Their Jits is Kux!

“Day one was great as the boys get ready for Day 2.Bert had a bye first round and lost by an advantage in a great high speed match in the second.
Joe went 2-1 with both wins by cross choke.
Terrance was 1-1 with a great arm bar in the first round.
Ben also went 1-1 winning that tough first round against a good judoka.
Razor, Wu, Mark had a tough first round in the absolute, but are ready for the weight divisions tomorrow!
Only one fight in my division. Win by armlock.
We are off to bed…..Day 2 is the big day”

Congrats Guys!

Good Luck today!

This is Peanut everybody! Representing the Fokai Familia in his 1st school picture. When Uncle Tone asked him about his shirt he didn’t hesitate to say, “FOKAI”! Then he proceeded to check on the lizards in the shop like he always does. Rock & Roll Peanut! We love you!

Here’s a pic of 9mm doing his signature finale move after one of his earlier fights in Total Combat. And yes, that’s a signature Fokai Combat Unit 9mm shirt; And no, we’re sorry, there are none left. You got to get ‘em when they drop!

Karate Bitches- This statement simply reminds you not to forget about the art of Karate. It works! Realy! And when you are all caught up in the more popular fighting styles of todays fight game and rule out every other style from working against you, BAM! He drops some Karate on you ass. 9 learned Karate from his mom and has been fly kicking fools “Since Ever Since”.

A few days after the TUF 6 event in Vegas, FOKAI COMBAT UNIT Ed “9MM” Ratcliff-left (Now 7-0-0) was victorious over Alex Karalexis-right (Now 9-4-0) in a W.E.C. event that aired live on Vs. “9″ won by TKO in 1:26 into the second round. For those of you who have not seen “9″ in action, don’t sleep on this cat! “9″ is quickly making a solid name for himself in this world of MMA. At the rate he’s going he’ll have a title shot in no time.

He has mad respect and honor for his FOKAI FAMILIA and reps it hard on the street while passing along the good vibes.

And when its all said and done, at the end of each fight, you’ll remember these wise words from “9″,”KARATE BITCHES”!

On a side note- Mad respect goes to FOKAI COMBAT UNIT Dominik “The DOMIN8R” Cruz who was scheduled to fight Charlie Valencia on this same card but due to a shoulder injury that happend late in Dom’s training he was forced to pull out. It’s all good Dom! We know how hard you busted your ass for this fight and we know that you’ll be back in no time. We support you 1008%! And we’ll be ready for the next one, NO DOUBT!

God Bless & One love!

The Fokai Combat Unit “Victorious in Vegas”!

war-machine.jpggeorge1.jpgrude-boy.jpg

This post is overdue but more than worthy. We want to recognize all the guys who competed in the UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter Season 6 Finale at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Amongst those who competed there were a few soldiers from the FOKAI Combat UNIT & Familia who deserve special recognition.

John “War Machine” Koppenhaver won by TKO in the third round over J-Roc. This fight displayed the true essence of MMA. From top to bottom the fight never stopped and in the end the only regret is that the person standing across the cage was our brother. No doubt it sux, but thats what happens when you run with the worlds best! Mad respect to J-Roc a true Sav! Special recogintion goes to Robert “The Hitman” Garcia (Head Boxing Instructor @ UND1SPUTED SD,CA) & Baret “The Finisher” Yoshida (Head Jiu Jitsu Instructor @ UND1SPUTED SD,CA) for coaching War to his victory.

George “of SPARTA” Sotiropolaus- Won by rear naked choke and left his opponent Billy “The Kid” Miles taking a nap on the mat. This is not uncommon for a Black Belt Jiu Jitsu guy and props to Billy for fighting to the finish and not tapping to a choke. Enson Inoue stood by in George’s corner with a few other guys from Matt Sera’s Camp. Bottom line, “Georges jits is still kux”!

Troy “Rude Boy” Mandalonez of Marc Laimon’s Cobra Kai Gym in Las Vegas and a very close freind of the FOKAI Familia finished his opponent and friend Richie “The Dirty Samurai” Hightower with a heavy punch that was thrown late in the first round. Respect to Richie for coming to fight and making it to the after party…

O’ya the after party was at the Moon. I think it was in the of the new Playboy Tower at the Palms. Crazy- 3 levels, insane sound, casino, and patio that overlooks Vegas. Probabply the sickest club I’ve ever got into for free- thanks to War Machine. I guess thats standard for a place like Vegas but to a local boy from Guam, word of advice, bring your fancy zori! I mean the leather ones you don’t wear when its raining, and maybe they’ll let you in. Money is kuxika!

Finally a special thanks to the road crew who came up from SD and the Vegas locals who came out to support the Familia!

In no specific order; RJ, Pauly, Mike, Milan, Cotch, Jonny H, Frank “The Tank” Selgado & Carina, Jason “Halfbreed” Wessling & the wifey, Jimmy Shoulders, Suel, Ozzy & his Familia, Wade “The Nightmare” Shipp & his own, Eric Delfiero (Total Combat) George, Lopaka & his Nao, Cousin Boom, Napu, Stewart, Cita’s Mercedes Benz CL 500 (FAST!), and man if I missed you sorry bout that. We can always edit this thing and add you. Oya’ big up to the old school homie Big Mike Taitano for taking care of us at Coyote Ugly! Keep it local brotha’.

Shoot,

Tone
